Chicago-born conductor Fawzi Haimor has established an extensive international career with some of world's great orchestras. 🎼 For his Virginia Symphony Orchestra debut, he's celebrating the Centennial of Stravinsky's The Firebird, along with a first Hampton Roads performance from Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavarra – his popular Cantus Articus, or Concerto for Birds and Orchestra. 🎻 The show is Sunday, March 8 at 3 PM.
This week at Out of the Box, discover Jason Cale Music! They perform their own style of contemporary blues fusion along with a healthy helping of New Orleans funk. 🎵 It's Thursday, 1/30 at 7 PM in the Miller Studio. Hosted by Paul Shugrue of WHRV, the event is free and open to the public.
Get ready for a roaring musical! Virginia Musical Theatre's presentation of "Chicago" starts next week. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse. 🎭 Performances run Friday, February 7-Sunday, February 9. For more information, visit YnotTix.com.
The Second City has had crowds laughing for 60 years and tonight was no exception! The audience was laughing from start to finish. 🤣‬

Unfortunately, the acoustics were horrible as the girls’ voices were muted and shrill making it very difficult to understand or listen to. We had pretty good seats near the front on the ground floor and the couple next to us who were older couldn’t understand a word that was going on there 🥺 We were so disappointed as we were so looking forward to seeing this “Saturday Night Live” format show. We got so disgusted that we just left at intermission.
