Come have a great time with me at Lynnhaven River NOW’s Annual Oyster Roast at “The View” in Rudee Inlet! This is a fundraiser to support LRNow’s efforts to ensure clean and healthy Virginia Beach waterways for all of us. LRNow is making significant progress with improving the health of the Lynnhaven River. When the organization started 18 years ago, less than 1 % of the oysters were edible. Today that number is at 48%. Oystermen can now once again make a living on our river, and we can swim, boat, fish, and enjoy wildlife because of this progress. But there is still more work to do in all of Virginia Beach’s waterways, and you can help by supporting the Oyster Roast.

Tickets are $75 each and include delicious barbecue from Beach Bully, substantial vegetarian options sponsored by Wegmans, unlimited beer and wine, and all the oysters you can eat! This fun event has live bluegrass music, a shucking contest, a tasting of Chesapeake Bay Distillery’s spirits, and unique silent auction items.

Even if you can’t join the great event, you can still participate in the raffles for incredible prizes! Raffle tickets are $15 each.

• A private oyster roast for up to 30 people catered by Beach Bully & Pleasure House Oysters
• A hand-crafted 11 foot wooden rowboat with oars from the Tidewater Wooden Boat Workshop.
• A bundle of 10, $50 restaurant gift cards for an “Oceanfront Culinary Adventure” from the Atlantic Avenue Association. Restaurants include Abbey Road, Dough Boys, Atlantic Pint, Harvest, Rockefellers, Rudees, Crocs 19th Street Bistro, Baja Cantina, and more.
