The legendary godfather of early gangster rap Schoolly D is performing in Virginia Beach with 2050Community artist collective at their live music event during the Something in the Water Festival kick-off, Friday April 28th at 7pm, at Ocean House Rooftop on Atlantic Avenue. Schoolly D will DJ and perform top tracks from his long awaited, latest album “Cuz Schoolly’s Crazy, That’s Why” which features rap peers Chuck D and Ice T. This is a rare performance by this independent and game-changing pioneer who is also known for his early contributions to the groundbreaking series Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Schoolly will play the “TOGETHER” event alongside popular local DJs– DJ Space One, DJ Natalie and DJ Class for an energetic celebration of art and beats which will highlight different eras and genres of hiphop, funk and beats heavy house.
