Yes, kite flying is permitted at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on the beach. General respect for others would be the only courtesy expected from the Lifeguard staff and Beach Patrol. Lifeguards will also direct you to move your kite or stop flying it if it becomes a distraction to them or hinders their ability to patrol the beach safely.

Please try and use more open areas to make sure that you are not interferring with vacationers or becoming a nuisance to any other people as they enjoy the beach.
