The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium — an eco-friendly zip line and aerial adventure experience in the trees above the scenic Owls Creek. Kids, teens and adults can all enjoy The Adventure Park and it's perfect for families or groups too. Up in the trees of the Owls Creek Path you will see wooden platforms at different heights. They are connected either by zip lines that climbers "zip" across or fun challenge bridges that climbers navigate in order to get from one platform to the next. A series of these bridges makes up an aerial trail.
Adventure Awaits You In The Trees!
There’s nothing like a day at The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium! Located in the majestic trees of the Aquarium, between the Marsh Pavilion and the Bay & Ocean Pavilion, you will find our amazing “aerial forest park.” The first of its kind in Virginia! Experience “adventure in the trees” on your own or with friends, family and parties. Ages five to adult are welcome. Looking for Virginia Beach activities? This is a must-do outdoor experience that the whole family can enjoy!
You’ll see a series of platforms in the trees connected by cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Each bridge presents a different challenge of how to get to the next platform. A series of bridges form “aerial trails” throughout the forest.
You don’t have to be a circus acrobat or Tarzan! Choose from 15 different color-coded trails, from “beginner” (easier and lower to the ground) to intermediate, to advanced (the most challenging).
Climb with Confidence
You will receive a complete safety orientation before your climb. Our double-connected, “always-locked-on” climbing system helps keep your climbing harness securely attached to the safety line at all times. The trails are intentionally designed for your self-discovery, making lessons unnecessary. Our Park Guides are available to assist throughout your visit.
Aerial Forest Adventure
With 15 Trails, 21 zip lines, 6 skill levels, and almost 200 challenge bridges, The Adventure Forest is the largest forest climbing park in the nation. At the heart of the park is the main platform with 15 separate trails heading off and up into the tree tops. Each is color coded indicating the difficulty of the trail. Like a ski mountain, each climber chooses their own level of challenge. Depending on the climber and the trails chosen, climbers can generally complete several during a three hour climbing session. There is even a special section of the park, The Labyrinth, which provides an ideal climbing environment for families with children ages 5-10. It is available to general admission tickets when it isn’t booked for awesome private groups or birthday parties!
The ticket you purchase includes 40 minutes for harnessing and safety orientation in addition to 3 hours of climbing.

Wow awesome time. My wife and I loved it and I am not sure where to start. The trails have varying difficulty, length, and height so it would take several trips to cover everything. We had a 3 hour pass and went mid day on a Tuesday and were able to climb about 6 trails which is not even half of what they have. You are definitely tired after the day but it is well worth it. The staff is very friendly and they were helpful with any questions we had. We will definitely be back for another visit.
We come here every year for the past four years and we did the Glow for the first time tonight and we loved it! Perfect night for climbing. We had such a great time and look forward to coming back again next year! Every year our kids get better and do harder and harder courses!
If you are planning a activity for yourself or a group this a great adventure park to go to. The staff were extremely helpful from the beginning of the activity to the end. Adults and children having a great time encouraging each other through the various courses. Great team building and a self achieving reward. Go have fun !
If you are an active person, you need to visit the Adventure Park. Lots of fun! Lots of variety, from beginner-level to advanced-level courses...all ages. Plenty of zipping or climbing or combination of both. We did the twilight tour; had a solid 2+ hours of climbing. Be sure to check the weight limits. We had a group of 20+ high school students, and I heard no complaints. Good instruction from the staff, very helpful throughout our time, and great safety precautions to make every comfortable. A must visit!
My friend and I visited the park for a 3 hour excursion for her birthday. The overall experience was amazing!!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We even had some hesitation at some of the higher level courses and they were there to coach us along. We felt safe and in good hands throughout the day. We went on a Wednesday, which was perfect because it was not crowded. The only thing we wish we knew ahead of time is that the photo system was down that day. Had we known, we would have liked to get a few photos of our own. Overall, it was an excellent adventure!
