The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium — an eco-friendly zip line and aerial adventure experience in the trees above the scenic Owls Creek. Kids, teens and adults can all enjoy The Adventure Park and it's perfect for families or groups too. Up in the trees of the Owls Creek Path you will see wooden platforms at different heights. They are connected either by zip lines that climbers "zip" across or fun challenge bridges that climbers navigate in order to get from one platform to the next. A series of these bridges makes up an aerial trail.
Adventure Awaits You In The Trees!
There’s nothing like a day at The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium! Located in the majestic trees of the Aquarium, between the Marsh Pavilion and the Bay & Ocean Pavilion, you will find our amazing “aerial forest park.” The first of its kind in Virginia! Experience “adventure in the trees” on your own or with friends, family and parties. Ages five to adult are welcome. Looking for Virginia Beach activities? This is a must-do outdoor experience that the whole family can enjoy!
You’ll see a series of platforms in the trees connected by cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Each bridge presents a different challenge of how to get to the next platform. A series of bridges form “aerial trails” throughout the forest.
You don’t have to be a circus acrobat or Tarzan! Choose from 15 different color-coded trails, from “beginner” (easier and lower to the ground) to intermediate, to advanced (the most challenging).
Climb with Confidence
You will receive a complete safety orientation before your climb. Our double-connected, “always-locked-on” climbing system helps keep your climbing harness securely attached to the safety line at all times. The trails are intentionally designed for your self-discovery, making lessons unnecessary. Our Park Guides are available to assist throughout your visit.
Aerial Forest Adventure
With 15 Trails, 21 zip lines, 6 skill levels, and almost 200 challenge bridges, The Adventure Forest is the largest forest climbing park in the nation. At the heart of the park is the main platform with 15 separate trails heading off and up into the tree tops. Each is color coded indicating the difficulty of the trail. Like a ski mountain, each climber chooses their own level of challenge. Depending on the climber and the trails chosen, climbers can generally complete several during a three hour climbing session. There is even a special section of the park, The Labyrinth, which provides an ideal climbing environment for families with children ages 5-10. It is available to general admission tickets when it isn’t booked for awesome private groups or birthday parties!
The ticket you purchase includes 40 minutes for harnessing and safety orientation in addition to 3 hours of climbing.

It was a lot of fun
Something different to do
I just think there should more warning of how hard it is for people that are not in shape.. I almost had to get rescued off an easy path. Be aware that you should definitely have balance and some good upper body/arm strength. But it really was overall a good time. Oh it is expensive also.. Otherwise would have gave 4 stars
I had a fantastic time with my daughter who was 8 at the time. She felt challenged but was able to figure almost everything out on her own. We went in the evening when it wasn't too busy and spent about 90 minutes climbing after 45 minutes to get geared up and trained. We will definitely go back on a future trip and will be looking for similar places that are closer to home.
The most fun I've had in a while. It's expensive, but it's worth the price. It's certainly a very physical activity, but the views you get through the journey are fantastic. I went with my family and had a blast, but I also think this is a fun date idea too. It's a great alternative to just a normal day at the gym, since by the time I left I felt like I'd gotten an amazing work out in. The staff is also so fun and eager to help. Highly recommend!
Amazing place! The most fun I've had in years! It can be physically challenging; but everything about it is great! It's well planned out, we'll executed, and the staff is not only polite; but extremely safety minded. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Well worth going to!
We had a great time! The staff that sets you up with the harness was awesome. There are a ton of trails and lots of cool obstacles! They close the bigger trails early, so be forewarned. They also talk to you in colour code, so study up or you'll feel like your being talked down to. Other than the small misunderstandings, it was an incredible time. We will absolutely go again!
