Taste Unlimited – Shore Drive
Region: Shore Dr, Virginia Beach
Cuisines: Fast Food
Born from a craving to bring the finest food and wine to Coastal Virginia, Peter Coe opened the first TASTE UNLIMITED in Virginia Beach in 1973. And so began their pioneering journey to enhance the collective local palate. In 2006, the Pruden family jumped aboard to carry the traditions forward for another generation.
Their commitment to high quality foods does not end with their prepared foods. The retail shelves are chocked full of exclusively curated foods from artisanal producers, with an emphasis on the fine food and wine made right here in Virginia. They also feature farmstead cheese, cured meats, craft beer, wine, and gourmet provisions from chocolate to olive oil. We seek out foods made on family farms and by small producers who are zealous about preparing foods of integrity using traditional methods. They even have formed close relationships with these producers and offer regular tastings to expose diners to their products and share the story behind them.

Was definitely skeptical. Good food, unique sodas (also good), and good service. Price not bad either. A middle aged white woman’s heaven (i’m a college aged black man but they were still cool)
Like the sandwiches/salads, but having to consistently wait for 25-45minutes for a simple sandwich is unacceptable. This has been a trend with the Oceanfront location for sometime, but since the 2019 tourist season has picked up in addition to their new online ordering this location simply is unable to keep up. If you are a local, do yourself a favor and drive the additional 10 minutes to the Hilltop or Bayville locations for better service, and frankly, a better sandwich/salad.
It feels weird giving this place a 3 star. I have been to plenty of different Taste and didn't have this problem. When I got my Lynnhaven sandwich, the chicken was crazy dry for some reason. This is my favorite sandwich and just could hardly finish it. I can't say that I won't go and try it again. I just hope they get it straight next time. We will see.
The food is amazing! Got a sandwich called, “Beach Club” well worth every bite! Just the perfect amount of food to be satisfied and everything was fresh and the bread was toasted nice and crunchy! Best sandwich shop around
I've had a sandwich here as often as I could while staying in virginia beach. Everything I've had has been incredibly fresh and delicious. French bread that has a great crust and a soft inside. I didn't see "crack" on the ingredient list for their sandwich spread, but it's in there for sure. The only bad thing I can think of is there are no locations anywhere near where I live.
They've also got a ton of grab and go super high quality items and wines. And cane sugar soda.
Worth the stop. It's great.
