For the Families with Kids
Kids are a blessing and bringing them to Virginia Beach is sure to be a memorable experience for the whole family. Virginia Beach loves kids and the oceanfront and surrounding area caters to kids and families! Getting your kids out on the sand beach is great.. but there is so much more to do and see that you have to at least check out some of these recommended kids activities while you are here. Your kids will thank you and who knows... you might even get a little break from non-stop parenting and get to enjoy watching your kids as they experience new things for the first time. What a treat!
The Pocahontas Pancake House and Waffle Shop has been a fixture in Virginia Beach, Virginia for as long as anyone here can remember. Pocahontas Pancake and Waffle Shop was originally opened in 1974 by the Crisostomides family. In 1986 The Zervoudakis family, Mary, Angelo and George bought the restaurant and kept the Pocahontas name. Since that time there have been many changes made to the restaurant. We brought in local artist Jim Johnson to paint murals on the wall and windows and had an authentic Indian Tee Pee built inside. Our crew works hard to keep our restaurant in good condition, serve the best food possible and provide a family friendly atmosphere.

Josh a young surfer from Virginia Beach who in late 2006 at the age of 33 was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. When his family went to the beach, Josh always stayed behind. Josh’s father, Bruce Thompson figured this nightmare must have been plaguing many disabled folks all over the world.
