After decades as a fine dining restaurant, Alexander’s on the Bay closed in the Winter 2013. Stephen Michaels, property owner, decided to re-open the business as a casual seafood grill, Buoy 44. This waterfront location dictated a restaurant that had a casual, beach friendly vibe. Stephen Michaels has owned several restaurants that focused on water venues with a seafood influence. His vision for Buoy 44 included fresh seafood with unique sauces and toppings and great cocktails. Buoy 44 has a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit back with a cocktail and enjoy the amazing sunsets. We offer 2 bars, 2 dining areas and an outdoor patio that overlooks the beach and Chesapeake Bay. Unfortunately, the tide runs fast here so we do not accept reservations. Seating is on a first come basis. Shirts and shoes required.
