DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant
Region: Oceanfront Central (11-25), Virginia Beach
Cuisines: Ice Cream & Sweets
Since 1940, when the first Dairy Queen store opened in Joliet, Illinois, DQ has served quality soft serve ice cream (with our signature curl) to families. Since then, Dairy Queen has grown into one of the largest fast food franchises in the world. But don’t get the wrong idea, from Dilly Bars to Blizzards to Banana Splits, at Dairy Queen we make “Fan Food not Fast Food” and you don’t have to go any farther than the Virginia Beach boardwalk to enjoy one of our Royal Treats.
At our newly renovated 17th Street Grill & Chill, we serve all of our fan favorites including Peanut Buster Parfaits, Dipped Cones, Sundaes, and Orange Julius drinks, but also offer items fresh from the grill. Visit us for lunch or dinner and try a world-famous Super Chili Dog, a GrillBurger, a delicious Hot Bake or our lighter Garden Greens Grilled Chicken Salad. We’ve expanded our canopied outdoor seating area so there is plenty of room. And no visit is complete without checking out what’s happening at the outdoor Dairy Queen Grill & Chill 17th Street Park, featuring live music, plays, movies, and events throughout the summer season.

Ordered Cookie Dough Blizzard. It was like soup! Manager told me "we use hot fudge... it's in our recipe". WHY would you put HOT fudge in a BLIZZARD?!?! I looked up recipe on Dairy Queen's main website. It CLEARLY states "cold fudge". The manager, begrudgingly, made us another but still used hot fudge. We had to throw it away. Will NOT go back.
First time eating here and I wish I can put no star rating and never ate here. I ordered from sabira U. She didn’t know anything I asked about the menu and she couldn’t answer any of my questions I asked for a cheese burger with everything on it and to add lettuce and tomatoes and got this I drove 20 mins to get this for my mom and came back to feed my family and when I opened it we got this. Worst experience ever and I spent over $60 dollars everything was not right smh
Ice cream and live music... my strawberry milkshake was awesome and when Cherry Black Cadillac took the stage and made it even better!
When I visited the location, it was closed. I have no discrepancy with that, my problem was the staff ignoring us like they couldn’t see us. We stood there for a little while, even tried to wave someone down because we still thought they were open. There are no hours of operation posted and the staff acted like they couldn’t see us. I could see them glancing up at us, trying to discretely see if we were still there. A simple “we’re closed” would have been fine. I found it to be very rude for them to have treated us like we were invisible.. Was really disappointed and will not be returning after being treated that way. Very disappointing.
Manager Gulnasraid (I'm not sure if I wrote it correct) such a rude person. She screamed and humiliated other employees because they messed up my order. They just a kids, someone of them not even 20 years old. C'mon!
Still feeling bad for them 🙁
