Open letter to Patrick Pacious CEO Choice Hotels. Never done this before but I am doing this on FB because I have no confidence that you would ever hear this.
Just have to say how very disappointed we are with Choice Hotels and the don’t care attitude you are portraying to your members even the ones like us who have been members and customers for over 20 years! Your policies and customer service is lacking. We have spent over a month trying to get answers to an over billing issue. We have been put on hold waiting more than 30 to 40 mins to speak with a Sr. customer service rep all to get disconnected (or hung up on) and have to start process all over again. For over a month we have talked with several people one said we would be taken care of, credits issued, then find we were billed again for a non stay. Lot more to the story but I hope you got the point.
I would suggest anyone reading this think twice now before choosing a Choice Hotel property.

My time as a Choice Hotels Priority Club member has come to an end!!! I have made many calls to the local hotel in Aurora, Co and corporate to satisfactorily resolve an issue begin with a reservation made at the hotel using my rewards points. Rather than using my points, the room was completely billed to my charge card at the "normal" rate.

The hotel manager said she wasn't able to refund the charges since the stay was complete. Corporate couldn't make the refund happen. The two entities would not, or had no process to, allow this reversal of charges to happen.

I had a ticket that I was told would be resolved within 72 hours. I didn't receive a return call within 72 hours.

I have since found that to use my points for a reservation, I needed to set that up through corporate, not the local hotel. The clerk at the hotel must have been untrained on this process because she didn't tell me that, but made me believe the reservation was set up with my points.

The local hotel manager was incompetent and unhelpful. I spent much time on hold waiting for the manager to pick up my phone calls. She was left notes to return my calls, which didn't happen. When I did talk to her, she had no solution that would fill my needs.

Corporate people did not always give their names. Some of the people tried to be helpful by attempting to talk to the hotel manager, but not one seemed to actually talk to the manager. There was never a coordinated effort to resolve my issue.

This issue has left this long time Priority Club member no recourse other than to tell Choice Hotels adios. I will no longer use any of your hotels for any travel. I would rather spend whatever it takes to be valued, not just told I am a "priority" then have it proven otherwise.
