Burn the Radio
About the Band
Music Genre: Experimental, Indie, Progressive
The genesis of Burn The Radio. occurred in the fall of 2007 when two co-workers amped up, plugged in and quickly discovered what both had suspected – music is an entrée best served live. Joshua Shelly and Brian Lindberg began blending original riffs into a fusion of indie, rock and progressive influences which transcend conventional labels. Unsatisfied with being a ‘garage band,’ they spent considerable time auditioning the right mix of players to fill out their designs of pure rock and roll originality. Bassist Ryan VanDusen and drummer Derek Slate were added to the mix in summer 2009 to fulfill the desire of creating a band of unfettered fusion of rock, jazz and progressive energy. Over the course of the next few months, Burn The Radio. began to transform their Virginia Beach garage into a launching pad for a new, dynamic, innovative sound that has captured local fans and has made Burn The Radio. one of the most in-demand bands in the Hampton Roads area. Their first EP was released in December of 2009 and the online hits continue to rack up for a band whose name, Burn The Radio., asks fans to forget what you hear on the airwaves – and embrace what you know is real.
