We want to take a moment today to say a HUGE thank you. This weekend, we got awesome news. We were accepted as an institutional member of the AAZK. This is a huge honor, especially for such a small nonprofit like us. We could not have done it without all of you!

💙 We especially wanted to say thank you to a few folks who have made a big impact over the past year, as we worked on our AAZK application:

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️Kelly Hurlbut, our former husbandry manager who will already miss like crazy, and Delaney Williams, our lead keeper and training manager, along with all of our other volunteers and interns who have kept our animals happy and healthy

🌊🏨The Virginia Beach Hotel Association and its members who have welcomed us with open arms especially Diana Burke, Deborah Buringa, Stacey Wright Shiflet from Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center, Donna Cowen from Online Scene Solutions, Inc., and Max and the other the lovely folks at the Virginia Beach Convention Center

💵 All the businesses that have supported us with in-kind and monetary donations, grants, discounts, event bookings, and other opportunities, including iFLY, Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, Tervis, PetSmart, Navy Exchange, Restaurant Depot Virginia Beach, VA, Regent University, The Skinny Dip Frozen Yogurt Bar Hilltop, and so many more that we are forgetting to list in our excitement right now.

🥦The VB Farmers Market and all of the farmers and gardeners in this area who have donated vegetables for our animals, least of which is certainly not Cindy's Produce who even has allowed us to bring the animals out to her produce stand.

🐰All of our adopting families who have given critters a second chance at a loving home.

🦄Everyone who has ever attended one of our events, liked one of our Facebook posts, or spread the word about us in any way! Special shout outs to amazing friends Chris and Anne Marie Williams, Laura Ashley, Joe-Hope Moore and family, John and Jennifer Grego Baker and family, Rosella RO Lucherino, Joe and Stef Ann Edwards, Linda Wright Cherry, Fitz Cherry, Grace Martins, William Wallace Starke III, Swee from Peninsula SPCA, and again, so many more people that we are forgetting in our crazy excitement right now!

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

💙The fight is not over. We still have so many more animals to save. Donate now via facebook or at thebunnyhutch.org/donate to continue supporting our mission!

The hotel definitely shows some age, but the rooms are spacious and the waterfront is great. I had two bad experiences. First, my room had issues with the hot water in the shower. After calling maintenance, the best they could do to fix it was to remove the stop screw and instruct me how to pull out the knob halfway and turn it slightly to get hot water. Crazy. Second, the restaurant was catering breakfast for a 300 member high school band. It thus took 1 hour to get an order of 2 pancakes with bacon. The hostess was very apologetic and rightly took care of my check. Overall, the amenities of the water and space outweigh the negatives of the age of the hotel. Also, with regard to the restaurant experience, I was here before the season started so they didn't have the summer staff that they would normally have to handle the crowd that was here.

This was our best visit to the hotel yet. The staff was courteous & friendly. The room was oceanview and the weather was mid 80's. We enjoyed the view from the balcony and sipped cold drinks til the sun went down. Dockside Restaurant is just a 5 minute drive away and the seafood cant be beat. My husband liked their workout room & sauna in the early morning, while I slept in. Great stay.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and on both occasions I have been very impressed! I have stayed at other throughout the country but nothing compares to the quality of service, the cleanness of the rooms and quality food overall to this hotel! The staff there are always helpful and friendly and would go the extra mile to help you. The food is incredible especially for a budget hotel I am surprised how good it actually tastes and looks, both breakfast and evening meal was very delicious! Both of my room's I got on both occasions were clean and everything was in working order + I hardly heard the dreaded heavy room doors "slam" or "hear noisy people" walk along the isles. If you ever stay at this hotel request to stay on the top business floor to ensure the best night for sleep! I will be back again for sure you have my custom for life whenever I am in Southampton this will be the only hotel I stay in!!

Room Tip: Request "business floor" room for BEST NIGHT SLEEP and order the unlimited breakfast too!

Spent the weekend here at a conference with 4 other girls and we were initially placed in a room with one king bed. After talking to the front concierge, we were moved to a room with 4 beds and a pull-out couch - which was amazing! Great views, great bar, great restaurant, great room-service, essentially it was a great time. What really made it special was how friendly everyone working at this hotel was, it felt as though I was leaving my best friend's house by the end of the weekend. It is also located right on the shore, making downtime perfect for hitting the beach!
