Good morning! I hope everyone is still safe and sound in their homes and practicing good social distancing if you have to run errands. For those of you home schooling your kids during this time, I hope you’re finding your rhythm (see what I did there?). Here’s a little something to get your blood pumping. So far, it’s shaping up to be a damn good day. Heyo!
Like the rest of the majority of Americans, I, too, am practicing social distancing and am currently locked up in my house with my family. Never thought I’d be homeschooling my kids out of necessity, but, like the rest of our country, our schools are closed for the foreseeable future. As for me and my family, we’re full up on supplies. We’ve got food, cleaning products, and, course, toilet paper, but, most importantly, we’ve got each other. These are weird times. Even though we’re all isolated in our own little quarantined areas of the country, somehow, we’re all in this together. So, we’re alone, but, we’re not alone. This is the new normal for awhile, I guess. With it, cones many adjustments and realities. Like the rest of my fellow musicians and performers, I, too, have had gig after gig cancelled. I’m a professional musician, so, this most definitely stings a bit, as this is how I make a living. I know many of you, as well, not just musicians, but people from multiple employment backgrounds are now also adjusting to the new normal. On a positive note, I do get to work from home writing the music and lyrics to my upcoming new album that I was preparing to record in the very near future (details of that will be forthcoming once the national emergency has ended and we all go back to the old normal). I was speaking earlier with my manager and we were discussing perhaps having me do a Facebook live solo performance. Many performing artists have been doing that lately as the world has been shutting down. Let me know in the comments section below if that’s something you’d like to see me do. I recently watched Chris Martin from Coldplay do a video and it was pretty uplifting, actually. He’s tasked John Legend to do one in the near future. Maybe I’ll participate, too. Music may not cure COVID-19, but there’s definitely healing qualities to it. And, let’s face it. Eventually, everyone’s going to run out of movies and television shows to watch at some point. So, it might be a welcomed change of pace. As I mentioned in a post the other day on my personal page, I’ve closed my personal Facebook page in order to dedicate more time to my family, especially given the current situation we all seem to be finding ourselves in. However, I do realize that I’ve also got fans, too, and you’d periodically like to hear from me. This Facebook page, my professional page, will remain active, as will my Twitter page ( @BGrillsMusic ) and Instagram ( @briangrilli ) will remain active. If you’d like to follow me on those social media platforms, as well, that would be much appreciated. I’m very excited about the future and remain optimistic about what’s in store for my music career. I can’t wait to share that news with you when the time comes, but as you know, these are very uncertain times. I’m grateful to all of my loyal fans for accompanying me on this amazing journey. I hope that you and your family remain healthy and safe during this unprecedented time, and also hope that those of you that have lost your jobs and income, including me, as a result of the quarantine are able to get back to work and earn an income as soon as possible doing whatever it is we all do for a living. We will get through this. Stay positive. Later. ... See MoreSee Less
