Sunshine and mild temperatures year round make Virginia Beach the ideal getaway for golfers. The resort area offers several excellent public golf courses, designed by the likes of Arnold Palmer, Rees Jones, Robert Trent Jones and George Cobb.

There are numerous spring and summer tournaments and from September through May, many Virginia Beach Hotels offer special golf packages with these premier golf courses.

Appropriate attire is always encouraged when playing golf. Certain facilities have more closely enforced dress codes than others. Please verify the golf course dress codes before leaving your hotel to play.


Bay Creek:

Cypress Point Golf & Country Club:

Hell's Point Golf Club:

6,766 yard, 72 par course, with lakes interesting fairway angles, challenging greens and 61 sculptured bunkers. Chosen one of "America's 100 Best New Courses" by Golf Digest. Winner of "Best of the Beach" award eight consecutive years.
Heron Ridge Golf Club:

Heron Ridge is collaboration between PGA Tour favorite Fred Couples and Award Winning architect Gene Bates. The fairways are rolling and spacious and provide a 419 Bermuda grass playing surface. The greens are the most highly rated “L-93” Bent grass and offer many challenges with their slopes and undulations. Heron Ridge plays over 7000 yards from the “Boom-Boom” tees (named in honor of the course designer Fred Couples) and offers 4 additional sets of tees insuring that golfers of all skill level will be put to the test.
Honey Bee Golf Course:

6,005 yard, 70 par course. Honey Bee is a creation of Rees Lones. Open enough to be friendly to the high handicapper, Honey Bee also challenges the zealous golfer with a blend of length and finesse that is expected from a championship course with water on 10 holes, elevated tees and immense bunkers.
Kempsville Greens Municipal Golf Club:

6,013 yard, 70 par course, with Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens, and features a challenging back nine with numerous bunkers and water hazards.
Kiln Creek Golf Course:

Designed by Tom Clark, Kiln Creek is one of the region's newer courses and is ranked in the top 5 courses in Virginia by Tee Time Magazine. The unique design features 27 meticulously-groomed holes of championship golf. This 6,891 yard, par 72 course has gained Kiln Creek a reputation as one of the finest golf resorts in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Lake Wright Golf Course:

The Lake Wright Golf Course plays around its namesake, making its 6,174 yard, par 70 setup. The course offers some of the most challenging and picturesque par 3 holes in the Hampton Roads area.
Ocean View Municipal Golf Course:

Opened in the 1930's, Ocean View is one of the oldest and most scenic courses in the area with many tall, old trees. Located across from the Chesapeake Bay, this 6,152 yard, par 70 course has bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways. Voted Norfolk's best golf course 1994-95-96.
Owl's Creek Family Golf:

Owl's Creek, a challenging course designed by Brook Parker, is located near the oceanfront and boasts a raised, lighted driving range. At 3,793 yards and par 62, it can be played in less than three hours.
Red Wing Lake Municipal Course:

Designed by George Cobb, Red Wing Lake has sloping bentgrass greens and wide Bermuda fairways. Water comes into play on 10 holes on this long 7,080 yard par 72 course.
Seven Springs Club:

Come enjoy a challenging round of golf and play the best greens in Tidewater! Seven Springs is a 6,278 yard, 71 par golf course which features all bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways. Amenities include, driving range, putting green, well-stocked pro shop and a grill/restaurant.
Stumpy Lake Golf Course:

Williamsburg National Golf Club:

Williamsburg National is a Nicklaus Design Association Golf Course that was opened in 1995. It was voted by Golf Digest as "one of the top 10 places to pay in Virginia." Complete clubhouse amenities and meticulous course conditions are a standard.
